Keeping Dad on the Move

Dad refuses to talk about his declining mobility. He has noticeable knee and joint pain. Is there something that can be done for arthritis if it's caught early?

First of all, I'd get the most obvious things looked at as soon as possible. Perhaps there are some medications that could provide immediate relief and help protect from further damage. Also, exercise like swimming is really great for joint mobility and arthritis. Low to no-impact exercise is the best. He needs to stay as limber as he possibly can. Perhaps a physical therapist or even a personal trainer for a short while could help him learn some good behaviors and increase his mobility in safe ways. I'd be concerned if he is not doing some of the things that he loves like playing a few holes of golf or going on a short walk in the evening.
