Sound Options believes that exceptional care begins with exceptional employees. Each month, we highlight and share the story of one of our Certified Nursing Assistants who carries out the mission and values of Sound Options with professionalism, intelligence, and heart. This month, we shine the spotlight on Adalie Cawich!
When Adalie Cawich was 10 years old she moved to Belize, where her parents were originally from. She remembers it as such a beautiful place to grow up. When she was 19 years old, she married and moved to the United States and has been here ever since.
When Adalie’s grandmother was terminally ill, she cared for her in Belize, which inspired Adalie to pursue the caregiving profession. She joined Sound Options in June of 2013. When asked what she enjoys about her work she said that she values the experiences with her clients and loves hearing their stories and memories most of all. Adalie went on to say, “I love the flexibility with Sound Options. That is why I stay with them. I always feel comfortable calling the office and I feel like I can talk about anything.”
According to Adalie someone makes a good caregiver when they love what they do and have genuine care. It is clear that Adalie is a fantastic caregiver. According to Home Care Supervisor, Becky Herrick, “Adalie is a very strong caregiver. She has great ideas and genuinely cares for her clients. Her communication with the office is outstanding and her skills are top notch. Sound Options is lucky to have Adalie!" When she isn’t working, you’ll find Adalie bicycling with her family in her free time.
Adalie is one of nine of the finest caregivers from Sound Options nominated this year for the Health Care Providers Council of Pierce County annual All-Star Caregiver Recognition. She was nominated by the guardian of a client who said, "Adalie has gone out of her way to assist my client. She tries hard to engage her and doesn't hesitate to make herself available for urgent issues. She has even volunteered to help her realize a dream of visiting her childhood home."
