Oh, Do Teas Me!

Drinking natural teas promotes everything from relieving irratable symptoms to fighting off colds as well as countless diseases. As the cold season rapidly approaches, mastering these three brews (its really easy) will keep you on track and healthy.  All of these teas can be created in a mason jar!

This Antioxident Tea recipe helps fight the flu.  If you are feeling ill or you want to prevent a oncomming sickness, try this powerful punch and strenthen your immune system.

Add the follwoing ingredients to a pot and bring to a boil: juices from 1/2 lemon, 1 cinnamon stick, 4 slices of thin ginger, 1/3 tsp of cloves, 1/2 tbsp of termeric, and a pinch of cayenne pepper.  Simmer for 10 minutes and then strain once the tea cools down. If you need a sweetner, try agave nectar!

If you do get sick, this Sage Tea recipe can soothe your sore throat!

Place 10 leaves of fresh sage into a mason jar (with lid). Pour your boiling water into the jar, seal with lid and let sit for 15 minutes. Strain your tea and you now have a great soothing tea for your throat. It don't get any easier than this!

Last but not least, a nice Peppermint Tea will help calm your digestive tract during the "heavy-eating" winter months. Keep this recipe around for the holidays especially!

Prepare your mint leaves 24 hours in advance by ripping them in half and setting aside to dry.  Once dried and crunchy, place 2 tablespoons of leaves into your mason jar and pour in the boiling water.  Steep for ten minutes, strain the mixture, and add a few dots of honey to create the ideal sweetness.
