Sound Options President Quoted in US News and World Report
Sound Options Inc. President and CEO Mary Lynn Pannen was quoted in the Nov. 12 issue of US News and World Report.

In the article titled ‘Taking Care of Your Parents’ Pannen offers advice to adult children as they look into the best way to take caring for their aging parents. The current president of the National Association of Geriatric Care Managers, Pannen helps dispel the myth that Medicare will pay for the aide of a chronic condition in the article.

“The more we can help educate others on elder care-the better,” said Pannen. “Care managers can really be a guide through this process of assessing your parents situation and how to proceed.” The article states the importance of hiring a care manager as a first step in the complicated elder care process.

A care manager is a registered nurse or masters prepared social worker who can help navigate families through the terrain of elder care. Sound Options care managers have been assisting clients across Western Washington with their parents care since it was established in 1989.

Sound Options is also a licensed home health agency and provides phone consultations regarding how to care for mom and dad called Eldercare Coaching.

"I could go on and on about all Sound Options has done for us after our daughter was hit by a car. Aside from being a voice for us with the doctors,, helping with the Individualized Education Plan (IEP) testing at her school, ordering complicated medical equipment, and helping us through confusing insurance papers, Sound Options made us feel like we were going to be okay."
