Sound Options Wins Better Workplace Award
The Association of Washington Business (AWB) recognized Sound Options in its annual Better Workplace Awards on Feb. 6 at St. Martin’s University in Lacey. AWB member Sound Options received the award in the category of innovative benefits for its employees.
"These awards are given to dispel the myth that most businesses don’t care about their employees," said AWB President Don Brunell. "With so many companies providing extra services for their employees, it is almost too difficult to award only 25 of them."
Sound Options provides a wide range of benefits for its employees. The company offers nine paid holidays, paid time off and bereavement pay. In addition, there are great insurance medical and dental insurance benefits for Sound Options’ employees. Aflac supplemental insurance and medical malpractice insurance are also available, and the company provides educational assistance, a fitness discount, and assistance for employees who need counseling or legal advice.
Sound Options President Mary Lynn Pannen graciously accepted the award from Gov. Christine Gregoire and chair of the AWB board Brad Carlson. “We are excited to win this award but it’s really all about our employees,” said Pannen. “We are constantly trying to find new ways to improve the lives of our staff so they can continue to improve the lives of our clients.”
