Washington-based Sound Options CEO Receives National Award
Tacoma, WA (November 12, 2008) – The Western Region of the National Association of Professional Geriatric Care Managers (NAPGCM), an association of over 2,000 health and human services specialists who help families caring for older relatives, has announced that it will award the Rose Kleiner Award this year to Mary Lynn Pannen, RN, CCM of Sound Options, located in Tacoma, Washington.

This award is given annually to a chapter member who exhibits character and a pioneering spirit in the field of geriatric care management. A professional care manager is a Registered Nurse or Masters in Social Work who advocates on behalf of their client. The award winner is an experienced geriatric care practitioner and active in the National Association. Most importantly, this person must demonstrate an exemplary provision of care management services that adhere to the highest professional standards and the most stringent code of ethics. This can be ascertained by the candidate's reputation within the professional community.

“I am honored and humbled to be given this award,” says Mary Lynn. “Being recognized by my peers who are all dedicated to high standards of caregiving is a wonderful honor and so meaningful to me.”

NAPGCM is an organization of practitioners whose goal is the advancement of expert assistance to older adults and their families. They may be trained in any of a number of fields related to long-term care, including nursing, gerontology, social work, psychology, and other allied health professions. Membership is open only to individuals who meet strict certification requirements.
