Pacific Lutheran University Honors Mary Lynn Pannen of Sound Options
Tacoma, WA – Washington-based Sound Options CEO Mary Lynn Pannen, RN, BSN, CCM will be honored this coming weekend at the Pacific Lutheran University (PLU) Homecoming Celebration Luncheon as one of its Alumni Award recipients. Ms. Pannen will be presented the Nursing Alumni Association’s Distinguished Nursing Alumna Award.

“Mary Lynn Pannen, considered to be a foremost content expert in the country on geriatric care management, was a unanimous choice of the selection committee, says PLU representative Leslie Watt. “She was a key contributor to a significant grant received by the university to enhance our program in this area.”

PLU Distinguished Alums are recognized for their demonstrated commitment to the advancement of the profession in which they practice, for their leadership roles in the profession, and for their community service.

“I am honored to receive this award from PLU,” comments Mary Lynn. “PLU is an outstanding teaching institution and is embracing the importance that geriatric care plays in the nursing profession.”

This is the third significant award that Ms. Pannen has received in the last year for her dedication to advancing the field of geriatric care management. In May, the National Association of Geriatric Care Managers (NAPCGM) presented Ms. Pannen with the Adele Elkind Award, a national award given to one member each year who embodies the professional spirit of the organization. Last November, NAPCGM presented Ms. Pannen with the regional Rose Kleiner award.
