Sound Options believes that exceptional care begins with exceptional employees. Each month, we highlight and share the story of one of our Certified Nursing Assistants who carries out the mission and values of Sound Options with professionalism, intelligence, and heart. This month, we shine the spotlight on Koi Aho!
Mohokoi “Koi” Aho was born and raised on the island of Tonga in the South Pacific. In the 90’s, Koi moved to New Zealand and started her career as a caregiver. It was here that she met her now husband. In 2002, she decided to move to the United States to be closer to her husband’s family. Since the start of her caregiving career in New Zealand Koi has most enjoyed the companionship aspect to caregiving and the feeling that she is really helping and making a difference in her clients’ lives.
When asked what makes a good caregiver Koi said, “It’s all about patience, staying professional and having a genuine care and concern for the elderly.” When Koi isn’t working you’ll find her hitting the books and studying hard as she is completing her pre-requisites now and will soon enter a program to become a Licensed Professional Nurse (LPN).
“I appreciate Koi’s sweet nature and reliability,” said Home Care Supervisor Rebecca Herrick. “She is genuine and very attentive to her clients.”Staffing Coordinator, Jennifer Quenette added, “Koi is always so kind and willing to help whenever the needs come in.” Thank you so much for all that you do and the way that you embody the mission and vision of Sound Options in the home for your clients. We wish you all the best as you work hard pursuing your goals this year.
